Mahaseel offers fresh farm produce, entertainment

The 7th edition of Mahaseel Festival, at the southern part of Katara – Cultural Village, continued to attract a large numbers of visitors from different nationalities.
Apart from being able to buy high-quality farm produce, they also enjoy the various entertainment and educational workshops targeting children. The festival is open to the public from 9am until 9pm. There are 28 different local farms taking part in the festival in addition to six companies specialised in dairy products, meat, poultry, besides eight plant nurseries and a number of shops selling popular and traditional dishes. The exhibitors expressed their thanks and appreciation to Katara for supporting the local products, and its major efforts in gathering a considerable number of Qatari farms and outlets in one place, easily accessible for all. Ali Ahmed al-Kaabi, owner of a participating farm, said that the festival gives consumers the opportunity to buy extra fresh products within just one or two hours of being harvested from farms.
The participants stressed this initiative will further reflect positively on the agriculture and farm production in the country. The festival will continue until January 28, while the Mahseel Market will continue on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until mid-April.
